INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE

Eytan Mirsky is a composer and singer from New York who I met by chance when he was visiting Madrid in 2014. At that time we couldn't talk, but we gave each other the Facebook contact. In this way I was able to discover that he loved my paintings and I loved his songs, so 2 years later I proposed an exchange… He would write a song about my paintings and I would draw him. Surprisingly, he accepted the deal, and a few weeks later we made the trade!

I sent the painting to New York (the one in the photo), and he sent me a very cool song.

The song is titled “Can you Paint a Picture?” and in it he names 16 of the characters in my paintings. As soon as I received it, I had to think of a video to show it.

INTERCAMBIO INTERNACIONAL

Eytan Mirsky es un compositor y cantante neoyorkino que conocí casualmente cuando visitaba Madrid en 2014. En aquel momento no pudimos hablar, pero nos dimos el contacto de facebook. De esta forma pude descubrir que a él le encantaban mis cuadros y a mi sus canciones, así que 2 años después le propuse un intercambio… Él escribiría una canción sobre mis cuadros y yo le dibujaría a él. Sorprendentemente aceptó el trato, y unas semanas después hicimos el intercambio!

Yo envié el cuadro a Nueva York (el de la foto), y él me envió una canción chulísima.

El tema se titula “Can you Paint a Picture?” y en él nombra a 16 de los personajes de mis cuadros. En cuanto lo recibí, tuve que pensar en un video para mostrarlo.

It occurred to me to make some videos to promote my paintings on facebook and instagram, and the best way to do it was with music.
I called in the best clarinettist I knew to play the clarinet, the best percussionist I knew to play the Washboard, and the best guitarist I knew to play the Cigar Box, Stratocaster, and Harmony.
